Rupee weakens; closes at Rs 45.97/99/USD

Mumbai Jun 8: Indian currency today closed weak by two paise at Rs 45.97/99/US Dollar as compared to the previous close of 45.96/97US Dollar.

Rupee today opened at Rs 46.00/03/US Dollar and in the mid-morning session traded at Rs 46.08/USD.

The six month forward premia was lower at 0.76 per cent and the one year premia was also low at 0.95 per cent.

RBI fixed the Reference Rate at Rs 46.06/US Dollar today.

Rupee also fared well against other currencies: Rupee vs euro was up at Rs 58.35(58.62), rupee vs pound sterling was up at Rs 84.57 (86.25) and against yen too it was up at Rs 40.15 (40.46).
