RPSF, TSP jawans injured in accidental firing

Guwahati, Jun 8 (UNI) A Railway protection Special Force (RPSF) constable Ratul Mazumdar was injured as a Tripura State Rifles jawan fired 15 rounds indiscriminately from a Self Loading Rifle (SLR) in Lumding railway station this morning.

Tripura State Rifles jawan Orang had snatched a rifle from CRPF constable Dinesh Yadab after altercation with him.

Orang was also injured and both the jawans were rushed to hospital.

However, no casualty was reported.

CRPF has lodged an FIR with Railway Police.

Lumding Division Railway officials, accompanied by police, visited the area.

Police, however, said the situation is under control and train services have remained unaffected.
