Rocket scientist Kalam advocates bio-diesel Jatropha

New Delhi, June 8 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam, a rocket scientist, will sit with farmers to hear their experiences on the plantation and use of bio-fuel 'Jatropha'.

During the two-day conference on Jatropha beginning at Hyderabad tomorrow, Dr Kalam will also listen to the representatives of the ministries concerned, state governments, CSIR, self help groups agriculture universities and industrialists on the status of the mission for Jatropha, a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesman said here today.

The conference, to be organised at Rashtrapati Nilayam by the President's Secretariat with logistic support of the Andhra Pradesh government, will also deliberate on the availability of planting material, oil extraction, its purification and etherification for making the bio-fuel, and the financial support given for Jatropha.
