Pravin Mahajan's hearing adjourned till June 13
Mumbai, Jun 8: A local court today again adjourned till June 13 the hearing on the application of Pravin Mahajan, accused of killing his elder brother and senior BJP leader Pramod Mahajan seeking direction to provide psychiatric treatment.
The application came up for hearing before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate P L Waghmare who adjourned the hearing after advocate S R Yadav and S Verma told the court that the counsel for Parvin, A N Rajalkar was unable to address the court today as he was busy in some other matters.
The court, however, allowed the defence plea with a warning that court will not grant such adjournment every time as on previous occasions defence and prosecution have sought adjournment, while expressing their inability to argue the matter.
Earlier lawyers made a plea to provide psychiatric treatment and also sought court's direction to exercise its power u/s 159 of the criminal procedure court for issuing direction to the police to conduct investigations of such act and circumstances which had bearing on the mental and emotional make-up and status of the accusssed in the days prior to the date of incident and after the point of the accused allegedly reaching and entering the house of Pramod Mahajan.
