Police seek court permission to file FIR in Mahajan case

New Delhi, June 8 (UNI) The Delhi police today filed an application seeking permission to file an FIR against the management of Apollo hospital for giving false information to the investigating agency in the Rahul Mahajan case.

Appearing before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Kamini Lau, the investigating officer M Singh, moved an application under section 182 of the CrPC (Criminal Procedure Code).

The section states that in case of a non-cognizable offence the police needs to seek magisterial consent to file an FIR against any accused person or party.

Ms Lau in her order has asked the investigating agency ''to file an FIR against the management of Apollo hospital for giving false information regarding the drug content in Rahul Mahajan's body.'' The SHO (Station House Officer) of the Sarita Vihar police station has registered the case.
