NISIET to focus on international assignments

Hyderabad, June 8 (UNI) The National Institute of Small Industry Extension Training(NISIET) will focus on more International training programes on micro, small and Medium enterprises this year to augument its resources, its Principal Director Chukka Kondaiah said today.

The Institute, an organisation of the Union Ministry of Small Scale Industries, would concentrate on awareness creation on Intellectual property rights and globalisation among entreprenuers to take on the challenges under the WTO regime and evolve software solution packages for small and medium enterprises, he told newspersons here. It had so far trained over 6000 executives from 122 developing countries as part of India's bilateral agreements with friendly countries, he said.

The institute, the nodal agency for various cluster development programmes of the Centre and States, would launch Entrepreneurship Development Programmes on food processing for Tamil Nadu, kerala and Rajasthan this year and also empower tribal youths in different parts of the country by facilitating starting of small forest enterprises.

The Institute with a record earnings of Rs 8.35 crore during 2005-06 as against Rs 6.79 crore in the previous year, he added.
