Naxals threaten to blow up 2 courts in Shimoga district

Shimoga, June 8 (UNI) Two courts in this district of Karnataka today received letters, reportedly from naxalites, threatening to blow up the complexes using explosives.

Superintendent of Police Arun Chakravarthy said additional security had been provided at the district court here and the Judicial Magistrate First Class court in Sagar town immediately on receiving the information.

He said though it did not look like a serious threat, the department did not want to take any chances. The additional security to the courts would continue till tomorrow. He suspected that it could be the act of some mischievious persons.
