Naidu warns party workers against Congress misuse in polls

Visakhapatnam, June 8 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu today cautioned the party cadre against the Congress saying it might exploit its power in the ensuing local body elections.

Talking to newspersons here, he said the Congress misused its power earlier as well as during the civic polls in the state, and might repeat the same to win the forthcoming elections.

He said his party would disapprove the UPA Government's proposal to consider the merger of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant with the SAIL.

"The TDP during its regime had brought several projects here, like SEZ, Gangavaram port, NTPC, Apparel Park and Pharma city. The Congress has failed to complete Godavari water project and airport expansion work till now," Mr Naidu said.

He said the TDP needs to put up a united front to scuttle the Congress tactics and vowed to take serious steps to stamp out indicipline in the party.

TDP would highlight the anti-people policies of the Congress Government during the past two years, he added.
