Al-qaeda leader Zarqawi killed in raid: Iraq PM

Baghdad, June 8: Iraq's Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has announced that al Qaeda's leader in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, has been killed in a joint US and Iraqi military raid north of Baghdad, state TV said today.

Iraqiya television said seven Zarqawi aides were also killed in the raid in the violent city of Baquba 65 km north of the capital.
