Indian challenge over, Paes-Kirilenko beaten by Bryan-Navratilova

Paris, June 8 (UNI) India's challenge in French Open came to a crashing end with Leander Paes and his Russian team mate Maria Kirilenko conceding their quarterfinal match against seventh seeded American duo of Bob Bryan and the legendary Martina Navratilova in the mixed doubles event.

The Indo-Russian pair proved no match at all for their higher ranked American rivals who carved out a 6-3, 6-3 win at Court Chatrier.

The pair will face seventh seeds Elena Likhovtseva of Russia and Daniel Nestor (Canada) in the semifinals.

The other semifinal match will be played between eighth seeded Slovak Katarina Srebotnik and her Serbian partner Nenad Zimonjic and the Russian-Israeli duo of Vera Zvonareva and Andy Ram.
