Inculcate culture: Baig to J

Srinagar, Jun 8 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig today asked the tourism industry to inculcate tourism culture so that the visitors leave the Valley satisfied.

Inaugurating the first pre-paid taxi service at the Srinagar airport here this morning, he said the tourism development in Jammu and Kashmir was an ongoing process with infrastructure development and tourism culture as its important components.

Mr Baig, who also holds the tourism portfolio, said every part of the state has tremendous potential of being developed into a tourist destination.

The state government was developing major resorts and identifying new ones, he said, adding that the Srinagar city was being beautified so to upgrade its importance as a place of tourist interest.

Terming tourism as an important sector of the state's economy, Mr Baig appreciated the resolve with which the industry withstood and passed the difficult times smilingly.

He asked the industry to develop a culture of earning goodwill of the visitors so that they visit the state again and again.

Mr Baig announced incentives for the tourism department officials who perform in an exceptional manner in this regard.
