Hyundai dealer to open outlets in M'lore, Karwar

Udupi, June 8: Kanchana Automobile Pvt Ltd, which has been appointed dealer for Hyundai Motor India Ltd for coastal Karnataka, will shortly open its full-fledged branches in Mangalore in Dakshina Kannada district and Karwar in Uttar Kannada, company Managing Director Prasadraj Kanchan said today.

Talking to newspersons here, he said a branch would be opened here on June ten and the showroom-cum-workshop would have facilities such as new cars display area, state-of-the-art workshop with company trained engineers and hi-tech body shop.

He said HMIL, the second largest and fastest growing car manufacturer in the country, was presently marketing 31 variants of passenger cars in six segments. The company had recorded a combined sales of 2,52,851 passenger cars during the calendar year 2005 with a growth rate of 17.26 per cent over the previous year. This year, the growth rate was expected to reach 25 per cent. The company was the largest exporter of passenger cars, with exports worth over Rs 1,800 crore at a record growth rate of 27.2 per cent. It planned to increase its exports by another five per cent this year, he added.
