Hrithik rides Hero Honda's 15 millionth bike

New Delhi, June 8 (UNI) Celebrating its milestone of rolling out 15 million bikes, two-wheeler major Hero Honda today presented a tailormade 'all-chrome Karizma' motorcycle to Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan.

''This super bike will surely match my super hero image,'' Hero Honda brand ambassader Hrithik said, as the Hero Honda Managing Director Pawan Munjal handed over the keys to the star of the forthcoming film Krrish. In his father-directed Krrish, Hrithik plays the role of a super hero.

The all-new-Karizma has been created by the Hero Honda R and D team to mark the company's highest-ever sales of over 3.03 lakh units in May 2006.

''The Hero Honda family is elated to have achieved the landmark figure of 15 million motorcycles in the shortest ever time-span.

The customised all-chrome Karizma truly befits our brand ambassador and style icon Hrithik Roshan,'' Mr Munjal said.

Group Chairman Brijmohan Lall Munjal said, entertaiment and sports are everyone's favourites. ''Though, they are not physically involved in sales, celebrities help in promoting the product,'' he said.

Hero Honda will soon add two new names in its present list of brand ambassaders-- Hrithik Roshan, Sourav Ganguly, Mohammad Kaif, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Yuvraj Singh and Virender Sehwag, the Chairman told newspersons here.

However, Mr Munjal did not disclose the names of the new brand ambassadors that the Hero Honda group is roping in.

Hero Honda sold 3,03,666 units during May 2006, breaking its own record of 3,02,000 units established in October 2005 .

The volume sales recorded in the month mark a growth rate of 34.32 per cent having sold 2,26,072 motorcycles in May 2005.

It has a majority market share of 40 per cent in the two-wheeler industry.
