Haryana HC can't be in Chandigarh: Bhardwaj
Karnal, June 8 (UNI) Union Law and Justice Minister H R Bhardwaj today accepted the Haryana's government's demand for a separate high court for the state but clarified that it could not be set up in the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
''The Haryana government was adamant on having it only in Chandigarh but it has been told to provide the required infrastructure at some other place in the state'', Mr Bhardwaj said while talking to reporters here.
To a question, he said of the 300 vacant posts of judges in the High Courts in the country, 220 had been filled and the remaining 80 would soon be filled.
He suggested opening of National Law schools in the states and exhorted the lawyers to update their knowledge.
