Goan football club launches its website

Panaji, June 8 (UNI) The Sporting Clube de Goa has gone global with the launch of its website to benefit its fans with updates using convergence technologies.

The portal www.sportingclubedegoa.com, formally opened by the club secretary Edgar Alfonso in presence of its president Peter vaz and its foreign players, offers a free memership to the fans club 'flaming oranje' besides providing for online merchandising.

Designed to strengthen the fan base and encourage interaction among the members, the portal would come out with fortnightly newsletters to benefit the members.

''My ambition is to further promote the game in Goa in particular and the country in general by roping in corporate sponsors like cricket to encourage talent,'' Mr Vaz told reporters. Sidelines of opening ''Such n Such'' sports bar.

The bar displays logos of all NFL clubs and portraits of heroes hanging on the walls in its ambience even as multiple plasma screens beaming the FIFA World Cup event were put up.
