Ahmedabad, Jun 8: Ginni Filaments Limited (GFL), a leading textile company of India, after the succcessful launch of its products in North-India, today entered the western region with its wide range of pre-treated spunlace Beauty Care&Baby Care Wipes in the city.

Since the GFL is setting up India's first non-woven spunlace project in Gujarat with an investment of Rs 131-crores, so we decided to take the first mover advantage in the converted products category as well, Mr Srivastava said and added that that plant would be operational in next six-seven months time. A major part of the production from this facility will be exported, while the balance would be used to manufacture coverted products to be sold in the domestic market.

Commenting on the concept of spunlace wipes, Mr Srivastava said, ''Before launching these wipes, leading research agency KSA TECHNOPAK conducted market survey and reported that there is a huge untapped potential for wipes in India.'' He also said, ''The company through consumer products division aims to be a major player in the wipes business by garnering atleast 50 pc share in the wipes market, which is expected to grow from Rs 30 crore at present to Rs 100 crore in next three years. Ginni's target is to achieve a turnover of Rs 50 crore in the next three years.''
