Doordarshan to telecast live WC opener, semifinals and finals

New Delhi, June 8 (UNI) Doordarshan will telecast live the opening match of the FIFA World Cup besides the semifinals and the final, the public broadcaster said here today.

The opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup will be telecast live from Germany tomorrow from 1950 hrs to 2030 hrs on the National Network on DD-1, a Prasar Bharati release said here today.

The opening match between Germany and Costa Rica will be telecast live from Munich from 2130 hrs to 2330 hrs and a preview of the match is scheduled at 2100 hrs, while the match analysis is slated for 2330 hrs.

DD-1 will also telecast both the semifinal matches on July 4 and 5 on its terrestrial mode.

The final, scheduled on July 9, will be telecast from 2330 hrs till end on terrestrial mode.

The match will be preceded by a half-an-hour pre-match analysis from 2300 hrs.

Doordasrshan will also present a one hour capsule of highlights of the daily matches from 1600 hrs on June 10-28th and on July 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th.
