CGF Chairman Michael Fennell satisfied with the preprations

New Delhi, June 8 (UNI) Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) today gave a thumbs up to the National Capital, the host of the 2010 mega sports event, for making satisfactory progress relating to the preprations and assured its full support in this regard.

CGF Chairman Michael Fennell who met Sports Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar here expressed satisfaction at the overall progress made so far.

During the hour-long meeting, which was followed by lunch attended by the Organising Committee charman Suresh Kalmadi, Lieutenant Governor B L Joshi and Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit besides members of the Apex Committee, both sides reviewed the preparations under way for the Games.

The Minister assured Mr Fennell that all his points were well taken and substantial progress would be recorded in the immediate future.

It was agreed that Mr Fennell would return to India in the last week of November to review progress.

Mr Fennell also expressed his satisfaction at the selection of Pune for the Commonwealth Youth Games 2008 in view of the excellence of the facilities already available there.
