Brahmotsavam begins Sep 25, arrangements underway

Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, Jun 8 (UNI) The nine-day Brahmotsavam at Lord Sri Venkateswara Temple here will be begin on September 25, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer A P V N Sarma today said.

At a meeting here yesterday, Mr Sarma directed the officials to start preparations for the successful conduct of the event and ensure proper arrangments before the deadline.

A TTD press release here today said Mr Sarma suggested increase in the number of Sudarsan counters at Tirumala and Tirupati to deal with increased pilgrim rush.

Officials were asked to give top priority to sanitation to prevent the outbreak of viral diseases and maintain uninterrupted power supply.

APSRTC and Railways have been asked to operate more services.

Officials were directed to entertain only donors and not those carrying recommendation letters.

A review meeting will be held with police officials next month to discuss security arrangments, he disclosed.
