Bihar hoping for investment by US industrialists
Patna, Jun 8 (UNI) Enthused by assuracance about security from the Bihar top administrative brass on law and order front, the Bihari diaspora in the United States had made up their minds to visit their native state for exploring possibilities of investments in different sectors, ranging from Software Technology Park to agro-processing units.
Chief Secretary G S Kang told newspersons here that the senior officers of the state government had a series of meetings with successful Bihari entrepreneurs in the US and 11 potential investment proposals were the outcomes of the interactions.
A six-member delegation under the chairmanship of Deputy Chairman of State Planning Board visited the US for participating in the Pan-Asia Conference at Stanford University from May 31 to June three.
Other members of the delegation were Mr Kang, Industrial Development Commissioner S Vijayraghavan, Agriculture Production Commissioner A K Sinha, state Resident Commissioner in Delhi C K Mishra and Additional Finance Commissioner-cum-Managing Director of Beltron and Indusrial Development Authoriy A V Chaturvedi.
Mr Kang said Bihari entrepreneurs in the US had raised the issue of law and order in the state but they were fully assured of full security in event of investment by them in the state. He said that the entrepreneurs were apprised of remarkably hight rate of conviction rate under the new regime, having a demoralising effect on criminals.
