Betel shops to close by 2300 hrs: Police

New Delhi, June 8 (UNI) Shops in the capital selling 'pan', cigarette and aerated drinks have to close by 2300 hrs, Delhi police said today.

The order would be in force for two months starting June 13, an order issued by the Commissioner of Police said.

The step was being taken to prevent late night gatherings that cause public disturbance, it said.

Those contravening the order would be liable for punishment under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, it added.
