Athavale demands chair in name of Dr Ambedkar in Nalanda university
Mumbai, June 8 (UNI) Republican Party India (RPI) president Ramdas Athavale today congratulated the Centre for its approval to revive the 2000-year old Nalanda university and demanded that a chair be named after Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at the university.
Talking to reporters, Mr Athavale also said he was writting a letter to Pakistani President Parvej Mushrraf to revive another old university Takshshila which is in the country.
He said the Japan government has come forward to assist the Nalanda university and added that others should come forward to help the revival of Takshshila university too.
