AGP demonstrates against petrol, diesel price hike

Guwahati, June 8 (UNI) The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) today organised a demonstration in front of the Raj Bhawan here to protest the hike in petrol and diesel prices.

The main opposition party in the state maintained that the price hike would severely affect Asom and the North East as the region was heavily dependent on supply of food grains and other essentials through trucks, a release said.

The AGP would also hold demonstrations in all districts and sub-divisions on June 13 to protest the hike.

The party also submitted separate memorandum to the President and the Prime Minister through the Governor, the release added.
