Umrigar likely to be shifted out of ICU tomorrow
Mumbai, Jun 7 (UNI) Former Indian captain Polly Umrigar (80) continues to respond to treatment and is expected to be shifted out of the ICU of Bombay Hospital tomorrow.
Polly 'Kaka', as he is fondly called, had been admitted to the hospital on Saturday. He is suffering from lymphoma.
Dr Ashish Tiwari, one of the experts attending on the living legend, said Polly Umrigar is responding to the chemotherapy which is being administered and is in a happy mood.
Dr Tiwari said the cricket star received visitors today and was also able to speak to them without any problem.
Umrigar, the first Indian to score 3,000 Test runs, had celebrated his 80th birthday on March 28.
The burly six-footer played 59 Tests for India.
