Tourism Ministry to implement capacity building

Shillong, Jun 7: The Union Tourism Ministry today decided to implement a scheme on capacity building for service providers in Meghalaya through the Institute of Hotel Management in Shillong.

The Scheme is intended to familiarise, train and to create general awareness about the importance of tourism, client handling, communication skills and cooking skills, official sources said.

The Scheme is intended to target people from the unorganised and organised sector of tourism.

The small service providers such as wayside food operators and people handling tourists would be the beneficiaries of the scheme.
