Pedro Collins replaces Fidel Edwards for second Test against India

St John's, Antigua, June 7 (UNI) Left-arm seamer Pedro Collins replaced his injured half-brother Fidel Edwards as West Indies made only one change while naming a 13-member team for the second Test against India starting on June 10 in St Lucia.

The West Indies selectors met during the final day of the first Test match here yesterday and selected the squad.

''Edwards suffered a strain to his right hamstring during the first Test match and was ruled out of contention for the second game. He will return to his native Barbados while Collins will join the squad in St. Lucia tomorrow, June 7th,'' a West Indies Cricket Board release saud here.

Collins has played 29 Tests -- his last being against South Africa in April 2005. The 29-year-old has 96 Test wickets with a best of six for 53 against Bangladesh in 2004.

West Indies coach Bennett King admitted that Edwards looks a doubtful for the remainder of the four-match series.

Edwards bowled just 5.4 overs in India's second innings after sustaining a hamstring injury even though he batted with a runner and thwarted India's bid for a win in the drawn Test here.

Hoping against hope, King said, ''He is not playing in the second Test but we are hopeful of the third. It's going to be touch and go, and even in the fourth, it's still going to be touch and go. It's not great news but we'll see how it goes.'' Edwards is not alone in his battle against injuries. His pace colleague Corey Collymore had also injured his ankle last month and had to clear a fitness test and the Barbados bowler is yet to regain his full fitness.
