Kidnapped Iraqis found tortured, but alive -police
BAGHDAD, June 7 (Reuters) Thirteen out of some 50 Iraqi transport workers who were abducted earlier this week were found alive but some showed signs of torture, police sources said today.
A police patrol found them sitting together on a street in central Baghdad around midnight (local time) yesterday, apparently dumped there, the sources said. Some had been shot in the foot.
On Monday, gunmen in police uniforms abducted up to 50 employees of various Baghdad transport companies, police and Interior Ministry sources said.
