New Delhi, June 7 (UNI) International Sand artist Sudarsan Patnaik has created a sand sculpture on the sea beach in Berlin to commemorate the FIFA World Cup in Germany starting from June 9.

The theme of the competition is ''World Peace and Friendship- the dangers of drug addictions''.

Patnaik, who is in Germany, has made a sand sculpture to send a message to the youths of the world to ''Soak in the spirit of the World Cup to kick the drug habits''.

The festival, inaugurated today, would continue till June 17 on the sea beach, where thousands of youths from all over the world visit everyday.

Before leaving for Germany, Patnaik had made a 32-foot long boot and a huge football in sand on the beach of Bay of Bengal at Puri in Orissa to celebrate the FIFA World Cup in India.

The 32-foot long boot symbolises the 32 participating countries in the world cup, said Patnaik.

He had bagged the first prize at the Berlin International Sand Sculpting Championship last year.
