Heavy rains predicted in Gangetic WB, Jharkhand and Bihar
Pune, June 7 (UNI) The southwest monsoon has been vigourous in Bihar and active in Jharkhand.
In the regions where the southwest monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal in Uttar Pradesh and in some parts of Chattisgarh and were below normal in west Uttar Pradesh, southwest Rajasthan, northwest Madhya Pradesh, north Telangana and in some parts of east Rajasthan. They were normal over the rest of the country.
Heavy rain is likely to occur at most places in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and coastal Karnataka and at many places in south Konkan and Goa.
Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa and at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Chattisgarh, north Konkan, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep and at few places in east Madhya Pradesh, madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema and interior Karnataka and at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat Marathwada, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
Heavy rains have occurred at most places in Jharkhand and Bihar and at many places in Gangetic West Bengal.
Very light rains have occurred at isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gujarat, madhya Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
