Gujarat Govt announces major gas find in KG basin
Gandhinagar, June 7 (UNI) The Gujarat Government today announced a major gas find in the KG basin, offshore Kakinada district in Andhra Pradesh.
The second well built by the Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) in KG basin produces the gas flow of 4.8 million cubic feet per day and oil flow of 862 barrels per day, Gujarat Minister of State for Energy Saurabh Pastel told mediapersons here after a Cabinet meeting.
The well was opened by GSPC on June 2, this year.
GSPC had already made a major gas find in the same block last year with an estimated 20 trillion cubic feet gas reserve.
GSPC plans to drill 20 to 30 appraisal wells in the same block in the next 2-3 years.
