Kanpur, June 7 (UNI) The BJP today burnt the effigies of Union Petroleum and Finance Ministers in different parts of the city in protest against the fuel hike and demanded the withdrawal of increased prices of both the petroleum products immediately.

While former Minister Satish Mahana alongwith his hundreds of party workers burnt the effigies of Union Petroleum Minister Murali Deora and Finance Minister P Chidambaram at Bara Chauraha crossing, the Samajawadi Jana Yuva Sabha workers organised protest march in the Govindnagar area of the city. They appealed to the people to observe the state-wide Bandh on June 13.

Before burning the effigies, Mr Mahana said the UPA government has failed on all fronts and by increasing the prices of petrol and diesel it has imposed a huge financial burden on the common man and farmers.
