Vizag steel achieves higher sales turnover

Kolkata, Jun 6: Vizag Steel has recorded best ever sales turnover of Rs 680 crores in May 2006, registering a growth of 43 per cent over the corresponding period in the last year, which was Rs 474 crores.

A company release said here today that the strategic marketing initiatives coupled with speedy decision making helped Visakhapatnam Steel Plant(VSP) to achieve higher sales during the month.

With this, the cumulative sales turnover in April-May, 2006 reached Rs.1074 crores, a growth of 19 per cent over the corresponding period of last year of Rs 905 crores.

VSP produced 3,28,603 tonnes of hot metal, 2,85,394 tonnes of liquid steel, 2.60,042 tons of saleable steel and 93,134 tonnes of value-added products in May.
