VeriSign expands presence in India
Bangalore, June 6 (UNI) VeriSign Inc, the leading provider of intelligent infrastructure services for internet and telecom networks, today announced the opening of its new headquarters in the city, signifying the integration of its three business units and reinforcing its commitment to the Indian marketplace.
The new facility of VeriSign, which entered India in 2004, would consolidate the company's footprint in the region and house employees who support its Communications, Security and Information Services groups. Until now, employees have been operating from separate offices in the city, a company release here said.
VeriSign's current headcount in India was 315 employees. The new facility, spread over an area of 100,000 sqft, had the capacity to accommodate 800 people, the release said.
Company Senior Vice-President (Operations and Infrastructure) Aristotle Balogh said ''India is a strategic marketplace for VeriSign and this facility represents a significant milestone for us. We are pleased to be housing employees from various business units in a common facility and creating a unified VeriSign culture that can benefit VeriSign and the regional customers we serve.''
