Various House Committees set up in J
Srinagar, June 6: Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council Chairman Abdul Rashid Dar has constituted various House Committees for 2006-07.
An official spokesman said in exercise of the powers vested in him under provisions of Rule 219 (1) of the Rules of Procedure and conduct of Business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council, Mr Dar consitituted these committees.
The General Purpose Committee would be headed by the Chairman himself as ex-officio Chairman while P Namgyal, Prof Bhim Singh, Abdul Rehman Tukroo, Ghulam Nabi Shaheen, Nazir Ahmed Mir, Ashok Sharma, Ghulam Mohammad, Bilal Ahmed Khan Lodhi and Nizam-ud-Din Bhat would be its members.
The Committee on Privileges would be headed by Ghulam Rasool Kar while P.Namgyal, Praduman Singh, Ghulam Nabi Shaheen, Abdul Rehman Tukroo and Trilochan Singh Wazir would be its members.
Similarly, the Committee on Subordinate Legislation would be headed by Amrit Malhotra and Prof Bhim Singh, Lal Mohammad Sabir, Nazir Ahmed Mir, Ashok Kumar Sharma, Ghulam Nabi Lone, Nizam-ud-Din Bhat, Farida Mir and Nasarullah would be its members.
Prof Bhim Singh would be the Chairman of the Committee on Government Assurances with Ashok Kumar Sharma, Mohammad Iqbal Bhat, Arvinder Singh, Farida Mir and Ved Prakash Gupta as its members.
The House Committee would be headed by the Chairman himself while Farida Mir, Abdul Gani Vakil, M S Panditpuri and Bilal Ahmed Khan Lodhi have been nominated as its members.
Ghulam Nabi Shaheen would head the Committee on Petitions and Choudhary Mohammad Hussain, Mohammad Iqbal Bhat, Ali Mohammad Sofi, Nasarullah and Mohammad Rashid Qureshi would be its members.
The Library Committee would also be headed by the Chairman while Ghulam Rasool Kar, Nizam-ud-din Bhat, Brij Mohan Sharma, Sofi Ghulam Mohammad and Farida Mir have been nominated as its members.
Similarly, the Rules Committee would be headed by S Praduman Singh while Sakeena Itoo, Ved Prakash Gupta, Abdul Rehman Takroo, Ashok Kumar Sharma and Farida Mir would serve as its members.
