Uma gives call to partymen to oppose hike in fuel prices
New Delhi, June 6 (UNI) Urging the Government to withdraw the hike in the prices of petrol, diesel and CNG, Bharatiya Janashakti President and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti today called on party workers to ''come to the streets to protest against the unjustified hike.'' In a statement, Ms Bharti said that the prices were increased for the fifth time in two years of UPA regime. She alleged that Congress President Sonia Gandhi was asking for a partial roll back only for political gains.
''On one side her party's government is jacking up the price and she is opposing the hike, on the other for gaining public sympathy,'' she said.
She said it was ironic that the left parties, who were party to the hike by supporting this government were opposed to the increase.
''If they have guts, they should withdraw their support to the government instead of indulging in such mock fights,'' she said.
