Sugar prices rally on lesser stocks supply by mills

Navi Mumbai, June 6 (UNI) Sugar prices rallied for the second consecutive day today on sustained heavy support from local bulk consumers in the face of lesser stocks supply by mills, traders here said.

Sugar rates of small and medium grades rose by Rs 15 and Rs 10 per quintal, respectively, on reduced offers by stockists.

Sugar rates of ex-mill small and medium grades also went up by Rs 20 and Rs 10 per quintal, respectively, in line with open market prices, dealers added.

Following were the sugar spot rates per quintal: Small grade Rs 1,900/1,930, medium grade Rs 1,920/1,985.

Ex-mill small grade Rs 1,885/1910 and medium grade Rs 1,915/1,935.
