Sania's campaigns ends, Sanam-Jeevan also lose
Paris, June 6 (UNI) Sania Mirza's French Open campaign came to a crashing end as the Indian and her Slovakian partner Janette Husarova surrendered meekly to 15th seeds Eleni Daniilidou of Greece and A Medina Garrigues of Spain in a third round match of the women's doubles event here today.
Elini-Medina demolished the Indo-Slovakian pair 6-0, 6-4 in just about an hour's time.
The first set signalled as to what was in store and the Greco-Spanish pair blanked Sania-Janette 6-0 to race away with the lead.
The unseeded Indo-Slovakian combine tried to offer some resistance in the second set and even broke their opponents once in the eighth game but that proved to be their only high point as Elini-Medina won the next two games to win the set 6-4 and clinch the issue.
The defeat also marked an end to Sania Mirza's campaign in the French Open after she was ousted in the opening rounds of singles and mixed doubles.
Meanwhile, there was no good news from the junior section and Sanam Singh and Jeevan Nedunchezihan also crashed out of the event after losing their first round doubles match to the Croatian combine of Nikola Mektic and Vedran Siljegovic in straight sets.
Sanam-Jeevan went down 7-6(7/2), 6-4 to the Croats.
Both Sanam and Jeevan are already out of the boys' singles event after their second round loss.
