Rupee weak, closes at Rs 45.92/93/USD

Mumbai, Jun 6: Indian currency today closed 15 paise lower at Rs 45.92/93 per US dollar, as compared to the previous close of 45.77/79/USD.

Rupee today opened firm at Rs 45.88/89/US Dollar and in the mid-morning traded at Rs 45.93/US dollar.

The six-month forward premia was lower at 0.68 vs 0.75 per cent and the one-year premia was also lower at 0.87 vs 0.91 per cent.

RBI fixed the reference rate at Rs 45.92/USD today.

Rupee also fared well against other currencies: rupee vs euro was up by 37 paise at 58.92 (59.29), vs pound sterling it was stronger by 63 paise at 85.56 (86.19) and against yen it was up by 24 paise at 40.73 (40.97).
