New Delhi, June 6 (UNI) A city court today remanded Rahul Mahajan, son of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, to two-day police custody under the Narcotics Act.
Metropolitan Magistrate A K Chaturvedi remanded Rahul to police custody till June 8.
Rahul's counsel Sunil Mittal tried to argue that his client should be granted bail as the quantity of the white powder recovered in the case was very little.
He also assured the court that Rahul would cooperate with the police and not flee from the investigations.
Police had sought his custody for further interrogation that would help the investigations and recovery, if any. He would also be confronted with other accused in the case.
Rahul had been charged under various provisions of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Yesterday, the court had remanded three Nigerians, arrested last night in connection with Rahul Mahajan's 'drug over dose' case, to police custody for ten days.
Mr Chaturvedi ordered Ebiram Gouchukwo, James Tiabu and Abdullah to police custody till June 14 after police sought their custody for further interrogation that could be crucial to investigations in the case.
On June 4, the court had sent Sahil Zaroo to eight-day police custody till June 12.
