Rio, Kulkarni to visit Zunheboto on Thursday

Kohima June 06 (UNI) In the aftermath of bloody inter-factional clashes in Zunheboto town, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Chairman of Cease-Fire Monitoring Group (CFMG) Lt.Gen. R V Kulkarni will visit Zunheboto town on June 8 to assess the situation in the district.

According to official sources, Mr Rio and Gen. Kulkarni would visit the district for two days and discuss with faction leaders of the frontal organizations like Sumi Hoho, Zunheboto Town Council and All Sumi Students Union among others to assess the situation in the district.

The public of Zunheboto recently held a meeting where they appealed to the warring factions of NSCN to leave the town immediately.

The rally also demanded the immediate visit of Gen. Kulkarni to assess the agreed Cease Fire Ground Rules between the NSCN factions and the Centre.

The CFMG was constituted by the Government of India with Gen.

Kulkarni as the Chairman to monitor the agreed Cease Fire Ground Rules with the NSCN factions after the signing the Cease-Fire Accord with the NSCN-IM.
