Kohima June 6 (UNI) Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Chairman of Cease-Fire Monitoring Group (CFMG) Lt Gen R V Kulkarni will visit Zunheboto town on June 8 to assess the situation following the bloody inter-factional clashes last week.

According to official sources, Mr Rio and Gen Kulkarni would tour the district for two days and meet faction leaders of the frontal organisations like Sumi Hoho, Zunheboto Town Council and All Sumi Students Union, among others.

The citizens of Zunheboto recently held a meeting where they appealed to the warring factions of NSCN to leave the town immediately.

The rally also demanded the immediate visit of Gen Kulkarni to assess the agreed Cease Fire Ground Rules between the NSCN factions and the Centre.

The CFMG was constituted by the Centre to monitor the agreed ceasefire agreement with the NSCN factions after the signing of the accord with the NSCN-IM.
