Ramoowalia demands visas for Indians settled abroad

Jalandhar, June 6 (UNI) Lok Bhalai Party president and former Union Minister Balwant Singh Ramoowalia today urged the government to facilitate issuance of visas to over 20,000 Indians who are living, ''as refugees'', in different countries, including USA, UK and Canada for several years.

Talking to reporters here today Mr Ramoowalia said that these Indians had secured stay in the respective countries as "refugees" over 10 years ago and since then they are living there. Now they want to visit India but their request for issuance of visas was not being accepted.

He said that the concerned ministries should look into the matter and facilitate issuance of visas to them.

He also reiterated his demand of stern action against fake travel agents who were indulging in cheating people on the pretext of facilitation of their foreign journeys.

He claimed that over 50 Indians sent abroad by such travel agents on fake documents are still trapped in Kuwait.
