Rainfall activity advances over Orissa, Gangetic WB
Pune, June 6 (UNI) With the formation of a feeble low pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining North West Bay, there is enhanced rainfall activity over Orissa and Gangetic West Bengal for the past two days.
The Bay of Bengal branch of monsoon has further advanced and covered entire West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand and Bihar, most parts of Orissa, and some parts of Chattisgarh.
Also, though as a feeble current, it has covered parts of Telangana and entire coastal Andhra Pradesh.
The Northern limit of monsoon passes through 22 degree North latitude and 60 degree East longitude, Porbandar, Rajkot, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Pune, Sholapur, Hyerabad, Jagdalpur, Raigarh, Daltonganj and Raxaul.
The monsoon activity along the West coast has been subdued and is likely to remain so in the next 48 hours.
The enhanced rainfall activity along the Eastern parts is likely to continue for the next 48 hours, an Indian Metereological Department (IMD) release issued said here today.
