Punj JV bags Rs 428 cr Dabhol LNG Terminal project
New Delhi, June 6 (UNI) Construction majors Punj Lloyd Ltd, along with its joint venture partner, Whessoe UK, has bagged a Rs 428 crore contract for completing the Dabhol LNG terminal by Ratnagiri Gas and Power Private Ltd.
The contract constitutes engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) package for completion of balance works of the LNG terminal and top of the jetty facilities for Ratnagiri (Dabhol) LNG Terminal project. The scheduled time for completion is within 13 months from the date of contract.
''We are proud that the project, which had been abandoned five years back, has been awarded back to us and we endeavour to complete it in record time. With this, Punj Lloyd will be the only Indian company to have participated in the execution of all the three LNG terminals in the country,'' Punj Lloyd Chairman and Managing Director Atul Punj said.
The company has recently acquired a majority stake in Singapore-based SembCorp Engineers and Constructors for over one billion dollars. Punj Lloyd also went in for a Joint Venture in Saudi Arabia and will form 'Dayim-Punj Lloyd Engineering Ltd.
Punj Lloyd is into a 50:50 joint venture with Whessoe UK.
