Patna, Jun 6 (UNI) Bihar unit of the BJP today announced that it will organise massive demonstration before Raj Bhawan here on June 7 to protest the price hike of petroleum products.

Talking to mediapersons, state BJP president Radha Mohan Singh alleged that the UPA government was 'anti-people' and the price hike of petroleum would adversely affect the interest of the masses.

''People are already facing hardships due to price rise of essential commodities and edibles. The price hike of diesel and petrol would make the lives of the people miserable,'' he added.

Mr Singh said that Congress captured the power at the centre and promised to work in the interests of the common man but it has deviated from the agenda of the UPA.

He said that the centre continued to hike the prices of the petroleum products every three to four months which is unjustified.

''In the name of price hike of crude oil in the international market, the centre is increasing petrol and diesel prices,'' he added.

''Centre should have offered the shock absorber by reducing the taxes on petroleum products which could have enabled the effective prices of the petro-products unchanged even after the price hike in petrol and diesel'', he added.
