PMC will not have truck with any party: Kannan

Pondicherry, Jun 6 (UNI) The Puducherry Munnetra Congress (PMC) founder president P Kannan said the party would go for the civic polls single handedly and would not have truck with any political parties including the AIADMK.

Addressing a press conference here, he said PMC would not enter into an electoral alliance with any in the ensuing civic polls.

However, he welcomed the offer of a few influential persons to join hands with the party in the elections.

Mr Kannan said the party would contest in Pondicherry and Karaikal regions and added that it would not field its men in Mahe and Yanam where the party did not have a proven vote base.

''The tie up with the AIADMK was over with the assembly elections and the decision was based on the experience the party had in the assembly elctions. But no one is to blame'', he said.

To a question, Mr.Kannan said the PMC would not not merge with any party and was keen on preserving it's identity.
