Petition seeking CET in Marathi and Urdu disposed-off
Mumbai, June 6 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today disposed-off a petition seeking direction to private Medical Colleges to conduct the Common Entrance Test (CET) in Marathi and Urdu, besides English in which the test is presently conducted.
The division bench comprising Justices V G Palshikar and S A Bagga directed the petitioner to make a representation before the State Government and further directed the State to take necessary steps in this regard as early as possible.
The court issued this order while hearing a petition filed by Indian Muslim OBC organisation which asked the court to direct private medical colleges to conduct the CET in Marathi and Urdu, on the lines of CET conducted by the State Government.
The petitioner argued before the court that private medical colleges conduct CET only in English, and as a result the Marathi and Urdu students do not secure good marks.
