National Junior Athletics championship begins June 15

Chennai, June 6 (UNI) The sixth Federation Cup National Junior Athletics Championship will be held at the synthetic tracks of Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here from June 15 to 17.

All the top ranked athletes of India, who are undergoing coaching in the National camp, will take part in the championship.

The tournament assumes significance as the Indian contingent for the ensuing Asian Junior Athletics Chammpionship to be held at Macau in China would be selected, based on the performance of the athletes here.

''This will be the final selection trials for the athletes, aiming to make it to China'', Tamil Nadu Athletic Association President W I Davaram said today.
