Maryland and Haryana keen on business tie-ups

Gurgaon, June 6 (UNI) The State of Maryland, US, will explore joint business venture with Haryana in the fields of agricultural produce and food processing and education, Maryland Senator John A Zenat said here today.

Addressing the inaugural function of Global Fortune Maryland- India Economic Development in Gurgaon' state Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said there were tremendous possibilities of mutual cooperation in the areas of IT, biotechnology and nano-technology between Maryland and Haryana, and both could bring about qualitative change in these areas.

He said that there were also many similarities between the two states as both were providing favourable atmosphere for entrepreneurs as well as students.

Mr Hooda said there were also many institutions of higher education, especially in the areas of bio-technology and information technology in Maryland and students as well as research scholars of Haryana could avail their benefit.

He said that the hard working farmers of Haryana were also keen to usher in a second green revolution with the help of bio-technology and modern agricultural practices.

He said that Haryana had made tremendous progress in the field of industry and Gurgaon had emerged as an ideal district in the country for invetsment.
