Kynadiah appeals to DCs to monitor Schemes
Shillong, June 6 (UNI) Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region P R Kyndiah today called upon Meghalaya's Deputy Commissioners to properly monitor implementation of the Central Sponsored Schemes in the state.
Mr Kyndiah, who presided over the District Vigilance Committee meeting at the State Secretariat here, appealed to the State officials to make spot inspection on implementation of the schemes rather the monitoring files in office.
Mr Kyndiah's reviewing implementation of centrally sponsored schemes was in the backdrop of the former Lok Sabha Speaker Purno A Sangma unearthing corruption while implementing the central sponsored shemes in Garo Hills.
Former Meghalaya Minister for Community and Rural Development, Beckstar K Sangma was forced to quit the ruling Congress led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government after the former Lok Sabha speaker unearthed the involvement of the State Minister in siphoning off central funds.
During the meeting, Mr Kyndiah expressed concern over the poor performance of different departments which he said is not up to the mark.
'' More attention has to be paid for the proper implementation of the developmental works'', the Union Minister told the Deputy Commissioners.
